This week, I met with local business and community leaders to discuss their work and ways Congress can help support them.

When we invest in our rural communities, our entire state feels the benefits.

I was thrilled to celebrate new federal funding heading to Goosebay Sawmill and Lumber and Woody Hollow Cooperative to support their sustainable growth and continued success.

My first stop was at Goosebay Sawmill and Lumber in Chichester to discuss new solar arrays they are installing with the help of a USDA Rural Development grant.

From lowering energy and operating costs to protecting our environment, this project is a win-win for Goosebay and our communities!

Clean water is essential to a healthy community.

Next, I visited Woody Hollow Cooperative to highlight new federal funding to upgrade their clean water infrastructure.

Everyone deserves access to safe, clean drinking water. It was great to see firsthand the impact that resources from USDA Rural Development will have on our communities here in New Hampshire.

The Nashua Center for the Arts will energize the downtown culture and economic scene.

A vibrant arts scene strengthens our communities and brings new economic opportunities to our state.

It was wonderful to celebrate the new Nashua Center for the Arts and discuss the benefits and jobs the Center will bring to Nashua with Mayor Jim Donchess and others who helped make this project a reality!

The Center will not only provide world-class entertainment but will strengthen the small businesses in the community as well. I look forward to the Center’s continued success!

The team at Greater Nashua Mental Health is doing incredible work.

Also this week, I met with Greater Nashua Mental Health providers and clinicians to see the impact of their work firsthand. I am proud to partner with these incredible leaders and advocates as we work to address the mental health and substance use crises.

Our communities thrive when we invest in quality, affordable mental health care, and our state prospers.

This week, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services announced a plan to disperse 700 overdose prevention kits throughout the state. 

This is a significant step forward in our state’s efforts to address the overdose and substance use crisis and will save lives across New Hampshire.

I applaud this program and will continue working on expanding access to treatment and ending the addiction epidemic.

We cannot keep failing our children.

There have been more mass shootings than days this year — that is unacceptable.

It is possible to respect the rights of responsible gun owners and pass common-sense legislation to prevent gun violence. This month, I was proud to announce my support for a slate of legislation to protect kids in school and citizens in our communities.

I will continue working to advance measures to protect our children and keep firearms out of the hands of individuals who pose a risk to themselves and others.

I will always fight for your personal freedoms.

Scientists and doctors should be the ones making decisions about what medications are safe

for patients — not political appointees or politicians.

I am proud to help introduce legislation to ensure that the medical professionals at the FDA have the power to regulate what medications are safe and effective, not activist judges.

Reproductive Health Care: Planned Parenthood of New Hampshire will continue providing abortion and reproductive care services in the wake of a Texas judge’s ruling that reversed the FDA’s approval of a commonly used medication, mifepristone. While the legal process continues, you can still access the care you need in New Hampshire.
