Kuster Statement on Appointment of Camilo Sandoval as Acting VA Information Chief

Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), a member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement on the Trump Administration's appointment of Camilo Sandoval as acting VA Information Chief. Sandoval has been accused in a recent lawsuit of sexually harassing a colleague on the Trump presidential campaign.

“I am dismayed the Trump Administration has appointed an unqualified individual accused of sexual harassment to a position responsible for the effective overhaul of the VA’s electronic medical records system,” said Kuster. “Mr. Sandoval does not have the experience needed for the unprecedented modernization of VA’s aging IT infrastructure, and I’m disturbed that he was promoted to a leadership position just weeks after legal action was brought forward against him. The President should immediately remove Sandoval from this position and appoint a qualified individual who will not distract the Department from its core mission of caring for our nation’s veterans.”
