Dear Friends,

As we all bundle up to enjoy the snow and celebrate the holidays, it is more important than ever that we all take time to give back to our communities and those less fortunate. 
 
This week I joined students at Boscawen Elementary School to make holiday cards for veterans. I then visited the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, where I distributed cards and spent time with incredibly brave Granite Staters who served our country with tremendous courage and honor. The smiles that the cards brought to the faces of the men and women at the home lit up the room, and the students' holiday cheer was just a small token of our immense gratitude to our veterans. It is an honor to work on behalf of those who have served in uniform as a member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee. We’ve taken important steps to improve care and services for our veterans and I’m committed to continuing to build on that progress in the New Year.

I also stopped by Friendly Kitchen in Concord to help serve food to those in need. The volunteer work being done, and the immense appreciation of those receiving meals, reminds us why it is so important to do our part during the holiday season. The people who take time to better the lives of those around them truly help make our wonderful communities the special places that they are.

Winter is one of my favorite seasons in New Hampshire, and despite the cold, I’m warmed by the tremendous generosity of people throughout our state!
