Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), the Ranking Member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, released the following statement on a report detailing issues with care for stroke victims at the Manchester VA Medical Center:

“The report released today by the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General emphasizes the need to improve services for our veterans at the Manchester VAMC and at centers of care around the country. While I’m hopeful that the lessons learned from this report will prevent any veteran that suffers a stroke from receiving substandard care, this report still underscores the need to reform the VA’s community care programs, including the Veterans Choice Program. We need to ensure the Department of Veterans Affairs has the necessary funding to bolster the quality of care for our veterans. Our veterans deserve better.”
