Kuster Statement on Second Anniversary of Supreme Court’s Dobbs Decision

Concord, N.H. — On the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, which overturned nearly 50 years of precedent and eliminated the federal right to an abortion, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) issued the following statement:

“Two years ago today, women in New Hampshire and across the country woke up with fewer rights than they went to sleep with. In the two years since, we have seen the disastrous and heartbreaking consequences the Supreme Court’s misguided decision has had on millions of women and families.

“We cannot leave women's health and reproductive freedom to the political whims of state legislatures—the stakes are too high, and women and their families are bearing the consequences on every level.

“We must restore access to the full slate of reproductive health care across the board so that women and their families can thrive. I will continue fighting to ensure that women can make the personal, private medical decisions that are right for them free from government interference, regardless of where they live.”

Kuster is a fierce advocate for personal freedom and expanding access to reproductive health care. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, Kuster has championed legislation to expand access to reproductive health care and bodily autonomy, including:
