Kuster Discusses Work in Congress and Future Priorities with New England Council

Manchester, N.H. — Yesterday, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) joined New England Council President Jim Brett at St. Anselm College’s New Hampshire Institute of Politics to discuss her work representing New Hampshire’s Second Congressional District over the last 12 years, priorities she would like to see the next Congress address, and her plans for the future.

“It was wonderful to join members of the New England Council in Manchester to discuss the issues and priorities that matter most to Granite Staters and the New England region,” said Kuster. “For more than 100 years, the Council has been a tremendous advocate for families, businesses, and communities across New England. I was honored to discuss our partnership throughout my time in Congress and the work that remains. From expanding our state’s affordable housing stock to lowering the cost of child care for hardworking families, I am confident that we will continue to build on the progress we have accomplished over the years while we work to build a New England where every family and business can thrive.”

The New England Council is a nonpartisan alliance of business, academic, and health institutions that promotes economic growth across New England. During the event, Kuster participated in a fireside discussion with New England Council President Jim Brett to talk about a range of issues, from her work to tackle the addiction and mental health crisis to priorities she expects Congress to address next. The conversation centered around solutions to improve access to affordable housing, child care, and health care, transitioning to clean energy, and building a resilient 21st-century workforce and economy.
