Gorham, N.H. — Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) met with representatives from the Gorham Community Learning Center to discuss the need to expand access to quality, affordable child care services in New Hampshire. As part of the visit, Kuster highlighted her efforts to secure federal resources to build a new child care facility in Gorham that will allow the town to serve an additional sixty families, as well as legislation she has introduced and supported to invest in the child care workforce and support hard-working families. “Access to child care is critical to supporting hard-working families, their communities, and our economy—we need to treat child care like the essential service it is,” said Kuster. “When we invest in services that allow our communities to thrive, our entire state feels the benefits. I was proud to secure resources that will empower Gorham to provide dozens more families with access to quality, affordable child care, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact this new facility will have on the broader Gorham community.” Kuster is a champion for families and expanding access to essential services like child care. She secured $937,500 as part of Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) for Gorham to construct a new child care center that will benefit families in the town of Gorham, nearby Berlin, and surrounding communities.
