Happy Earth Day! The Granite State is home to the most beautiful land and outdoor recreation in the country, and every day we are reminded of that fact. On Earth Day we appreciate all that our great state has to offer, and also recognize the impact that humans have on our planet. 

This legislation has not only breathed new life into our communities but opened doors and unlocked new potential for our economy. From bolstering rural broadband access to cleaning up PFAS in our drinking water, I was proud to get this historic legislation over the finish line to keep New Hampshire’s infrastructure competitive for generations to come.

I will always stand up for Granite State priorities in Congress.

During my time with the president, I highlighted the many conversations I have had with families across the state about the importance of lowering gas prices and tamping down inflation as well as expanding workforce training resources. 

I look forward to building on these conversations in the weeks to come and delivering real relief for New Hampshire families.

Our young Granite State students certainly know how to reach for the stars.

On Monday, I was pleased to welcome NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and Astronaut Ricky Arnold to New Hampshire to talk to Granite State students about our nation’s space program and the importance of STEM education.

New Hampshire has a proud tradition of charting new paths forward, and I was thrilled to see that pioneering spirit reflected in the students we met at the Christa McAuliffe School. These students represent our future, and I will continue working to ensure they have the tools and resources to shoot for the moon and pursue their dreams.

Whether it be to access the internet or loan a book, our Granite State libraries make learning and community accessible to all.

I am proud to work with Granite Staters to ensure our communities across New Hampshire have the resources to thrive.

On Wednesday, I was in Nashua to visit the Cotton Mill Transfer Bridge with Mayor Jim Donchess and discuss federal resources I secured to make the bridge ADA compliant. 

It is essential that our pedestrian infrastructure is accessible to all Granite Staters, regardless of physical ability, and I was proud to secure this funding to ensure Nashua remains a wonderful place for everyone to live.

I will continue working to bring the needs and priorities of our Granite State communities to Congress.

Connecting the east and west sides of the City of Berlin, the Mason Street Bridge is essential to the functioning of emergency services and sense of community in the city. But, it is in serious need of rehabilitation.

On Thursday, I met with city officials to discuss federal funding I secured to advance much-needed bridge repairs and ensure the safety and functionality of this critical infrastructure for generations to come.

I will continue working to develop more affordable, quality housing for our communities across New Hampshire.

Rural housing is a lifeline for New Hampshire communities, promoting economic development and ensuring our most vulnerable citizens have a roof over their heads and a safe place to call home. On Thursday, I met with the North Country Council and housing advocates to highlight funding I secured for the ‘Housing Ready’ Program to bolster our affordable, rural housing supply in the North Country.

I was proud to secure federal resources for this game-changing program, and I look forward to sharing the success of this project and the community partnerships with my colleagues in Washington.

The United States continues to stand with the people of Ukraine as they resist Russian aggression.

On Thursday, President Biden announced additional actions and funding to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression. For weeks, the people of Ukraine have been fighting for their country and their freedom against Russia’s brutal and unprovoked attack. The United States has shown solidarity with Ukraine as they defend their democracy, and we will continue to do so.

As always, the CDC and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services are the best resources to turn to for information about COVID-19. If you are sick, stay home and call your health care provider.
