Kuster Statement on House Passage of VA MISSION Act
Rep. Kuster Speaking on the House floor in Support of the VA MISSION Act
(Washington, DC) – Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), the Ranking Member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, released the following statement on the passage of the VA Maintaining Internal Systems and Strengthening Integrated Outside Networks “MISSION” Act, which Kuster co-sponsored:
“This bipartisan legislation shows what we can accomplish when we put aside partisan difference and focus on achieving real results,” said Kuster. “Our men and women who have served in uniform deserve convenient access to high quality healthcare and services and this bill is a step toward honoring that commitment. The VA MISSION Act importantly includes a provision I advocated for that recognizes the unique challenges veterans in New Hampshire face and expands access to the Choice Program to all Granite State veterans. It also extends family caregiver support to veterans from the pre-9/11 era so that veterans of all wars and their caregivers can receive the same support from VA. I will continue to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to improve care for veterans in New Hampshire and across the country.”
Kuster co-sponsored the VA MISSION Act which will reauthorize and improve the VA Choice Program and enhance community care programs within the VA. The VA MISSION Act expands access to community care for veterans in New Hampshire through a provision advocated for by Kuster.
