Franklin, NH,
August 6, 2018
(Franklin, NH) –Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) took a walking tour of Downtown Franklin with City Manager Judie Milner and city economic development workers to highlight Franklin’s economic revitalization efforts and funding priorities. Revitalization efforts include a recently completed redevelopment of a former mill site downtown into 45 housing units, and plans for a white-water park on the Winnipesaukee River, which will open recreation opportunities and complement the Winnipesaukee River Trail. Kuster helped Franklin with its recent successful grant application for technical assistance from the US Department of Agriculture’s Office of Rural Development. “It was great to have the opportunity to speak with Manager Milner today and see firsthand the progress Franklin has made in rejuvenating its downtown,” said Kuster. “Franklin has a lot of potential, and it is so important that we recognize this and invest in the potential of every Granite State community. I look forward to seeing Franklin’s continued development and I will keep working to ensure every New Hampshire town has access to the funds they need to expand, improve, and create an environment where people can thrive.” “I want to thank Congresswoman Kuster for visiting and touring the downtown of the City of Franklin today,” said City Manager Judie Milner. “It was exciting to show the Congresswoman the economic development efforts that have taken place, the results of those efforts and describing the transformative projects currently in the planning stages and in need of assistance. I truly appreciate the Congresswoman’s valuable time and support for the City on the move to reinvent ourselves.” ### |
