Working for our veterans
Washington, D.C.,
December 8, 2017
Dear Friend, As a member of the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I am always looking for opportunities to work across the aisle to make real progress on behalf of the men and women who have served in uniform. Our committee has taken strides to overcome partisan gridlock and get real work done. This week, Congress passed and sent to President Trump’s desk the Enhancing Veterans Care Act, which will improve oversight of care at VA facilities. We know that in New Hampshire and across the country veterans have faced unacceptable challenges in accessing the care and services they deserve and I’m hopeful that by enhancing oversight, we can help to prevent similar issues in the future.
I was also excited to see TIME Magazine choose the ‘Silence Breakers’ this week as the 2017 person of the year. The countless brave individuals speaking out and shattering the silence around sexual harassment and violence have created a watershed moment in our society. Women and men are saying in one loud voice: no more. We deserve to be heard, we deserve to be believed, and we will continue to turn the tide on this ongoing, persistent problem.
Please continue to stay in touch. You can call my Concord office at 603-226-1002 to share your thoughts and ideas or visit Kuster.house.gov.
