Kuster Votes Against Republican Budget
Washington, DC,
October 26, 2017
Today Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) voted against a Republican budget that will pave the way for Congressional Republicans to advance tax cuts for the wealthiest corporations and individuals along party lines. “This budget, which was forced through Congress along party lines, is the wrong approach for New Hampshire and our country,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “A budget is a statement of values and what Congressional Republicans are saying they value is the wealthiest corporations and individuals, not hardworking families and small businesses. It makes devastating cuts to Medicaid and Medicare, hurts services for our veterans, cuts skills training funding, and paves the way for tax cuts for billionaires. I’ve been vocal about the need for real, bipartisan tax reform that will help grow our middle class and expand the American dream. What the Congressional Republicans have done today is set the table for partisan tax cuts that will benefit the few at the expense of the many.” ### |
