Concord, NH - Today, Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) visited Terrill Park, a recreational area undergoing redevelopment along the Merrimack River Greenway Trail.  Kuster toured the site and met with state environmental leaders to discuss the project and critical funding made possible by the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). Last year, the City of Concord received a $100,000 LWCF grant from NH Parks and Recreation to complete Phase 1 of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail improvements at Terrill Park. The Great American Outdoors Act, which Kuster co-sponsored and was signed into law earlier this month, permanently and fully funds the LWCF. 

“The redevelopment of Terrill Park and the improvement of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail is a major boon for the Concord community, especially as many of us are rediscovering our love of the outdoors during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Kuster. “There is no better time to invest in the expansion, maintenance, and care of our public lands than right now, which is why I was proud to support the Great American Outdoors Act and thrilled to see it become law. I look forward to many more visits like today’s to see LWCF funds at work in our communities, and I will continue working to protect and strengthen public lands in New Hampshire and nationwide.” 

Kuster has long pushed for permanent reauthorization of the LWCF. In January, Rep. Kuster unveiled her Clean Energy Agenda, which includes legislation to permanently reauthorize funding for LWCF, address climate change, and transition to a clean energy economy.
