Kuster Statement on Net Neutrality Proposal

Federal Communications Commission chairman, Ajit Pai has outlined plans to loosen Obama era rules to maintain Net Neutrality

Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement on the proposal by Federal Communications Commission chairman, Ajit Pai to roll back a policy put in place by the Obama Administration to prohibit Internet Service Providers (ISPs) from giving preferential treatment to certain websites or services. Kuster voted in favor of protecting Net Neutrality in 2015.

“The free and open internet is critical to growing the industries and jobs that are an important part of the 21st century economy,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “We must ensure that consumers and startups that use the internet have equal access to online content and services. Congress should act to put forward rules of the road that will protect consumers. I’ll continue to advocate for Net Neutrality so that people of all economic backgrounds have equal access to information and internet capabilities.”
