Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) wore red to stand in solidarity with women around the world celebrating International Women’s Day. She joined her colleagues on the steps of the Capitol to call for policies that support women and families.

“Today we celebrate the enormous progress we’ve made as a country and globally when it comes to ensuring equal rights for women, but we also recommit ourselves to the important work that still needs to be done,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “Our nation can’t achieve its full potential if women continue to be paid less than their male colleagues and paid family leave is out of reach for far too many. It’s up to all of us—women and men—to keep up the good fight for gender equality. I’m proud to stand with so many of my colleagues who are committed to advancing policies that will benefit women and their families because when women thrive, families, communities, and economies thrive.”
