(Concord, NH) – Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) today applauded the announcement that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has approved a loan of $293,000 and a grant of $516,000 to the Deer Estates Cooperative in Milan, NH. Kuster, a member of the House Agriculture Committee, pushed for the expansion of USDA Rural Development funding in the previous five year Farm Bill and will continue to advocate for resources targeted to rural parts of New Hampshire.

“USDA Rural Development funding is critical to helping spur economic development and infrastructure projects in rural parts of our state,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “The funding announced today will enhance the quality of water and waste water disposal for residents of the Deer Estates Cooperative in Milan, improving public safety and access to clean water. I’ve long advocated for increased funding for USDA Rural Development Projects because we know these resources are effective. As Congress debates the 2018 Farm Bill, I’ll use my position on the House Agriculture Committee to advocate for programs that support New Hampshire’s rural communities and economy.”
